FAQs

When deciding on redesigning your brand or website, many factors come into play – the most important one being cost. Often times businesses neglect their brand to avoid spending hundreds or thousands of dollars by doing the creative themselves or relying upon templates to help bring their message to light.

A lack of creativity, expertise and guidance can end up costing way more than a proposed budget, and the result is a less-than-spectacular product that does nothing for your business other than shy away potential clients and customers.

Because your website is your biggest marketing tool, it’s important to have an experienced designer (and educator!) to help steer you in the right direction, and that’s where 26 Point 2 Designs comes in.

Because each project is unique, we provide an estimate based on project details, workable content, and timeline, etc., and charge an hourly rate. Every project does require a deposit up front to begin work.

The reason why website costs vary is because we take into account the time it takes for research, development, design, and testing to ensure that best web practices are met. With so many templated options out there, many resort to do-it-yourself without any knowledge of design or programming. It’s important to remember that technology is changing rapidly and web standards are also changing – and our clients don’t have time to keep up with these changes.

We won’t start any website design without a clear direction and understanding of costs, deadline, and materials that are required to begin development. Because each project is so different, timelines vary, and we make sure that the end result is a workable, functioning website.

Once you have made the decision to create or rebrand your online presence (congratulations!), we will arrange a discovery call to review what’s currently working and what’s not working. During Phase 1, the research phase, we evaluate your hosting and domain configuration and make any suggestions as necessary. During Phase 2, we create a sitemap and basic design layout to establish a new flow of information for your clients and customers. After design and responsive views testing across most popular platforms and browsers during Phase 3, your website is prepared to be launched into internet-land.

Many conglomerate companies like GoDaddy, Bluehost, and DreamHost provide multiple services to help make websites cheaper and “easier” to do. We stay away from these companies because we believe they don’t have their customer’s best interests in mind. In fact, they encourage their clients to pay more for services and upgrades with the promise that you will have even more options to choose from but may not need. What many don’t realize is that you are sharing your domain and website with thousands of other suspicious company websites – many of them with malicious web practices –  and the activities of these other companies does affect your website speed and functionality, increasing the chances that your website will be hacked.

We don’t buy and use templates from online resellers. Because each client is unique and certain requirements are needed, many templates are limited in functionality, and developers of these templates can suddenly stop support. There are times where we will seek out plugins for functionality that is not already built in WordPress, but we are careful and do the research to make sure that support is available and that the plugin is secure.

We only work in WordPress as this platform is widely used for many website developers and is constantly being tested and updated with the latest features.

We educate and inform our clients before, during and after a website design. We feel it is important that our clients know we have their best interests in mind as well as being mindful of budget. We will make important suggestions on how to keep your website up and running using the latest technology tools.

Simply fill out the contact form on our contact page, and we will reply within 24-48 hours.
